CHINESE WRITING

Chinese Sentence Checker: Free AI Writing Practice

Useful writing feedback does more than replace a sentence. It identifies the reason a phrase sounds unnatural, offers a focused correction, and gives you a chance to produce the idea again from memory.

Who is this practice for?

For Chinese learners who want to understand sentence grammar, word order and natural expression. This is text revision practice, not handwriting recognition or a professional proofreading guarantee.

Quick answer

Chinese writing practice works best when you keep the intended meaning, correct one pattern and rewrite without copying. MandarinGo’s AI writing feedback can help explain grammar and word choice; it can also be wrong. Start with the worked corrections below and check time, place, measure words and possession separately.

ONE SENTENCE AT A TIME

Edit, understand and rewrite

1. Original sentence

我学习中文昨天在学校。

Task: Reorder the sentence without changing the time, place or action.

References and explanation
  • 我昨天在学校学习中文。
  • 昨天我在学校学习中文。

A neutral statement places time and place before the action. Time can also come before the subject. Both listed versions keep yesterday, the school and studying Chinese.

Try a new sentence

Now say that you study Chinese at home today. Keep 我 as the subject.

References and explanation
  • 我今天在家学习中文。
  • 今天我在家学习中文。

Put 今天 and 在家 before 学习中文. 今天 may also precede 我. This transfer task deliberately changes the time and place from the original sentence.

2. Original sentence

我买了一本咖啡。

Task: Change only the measure word for coffee. Keep 买了 and the quantity one.

References and explanation
  • 我买了一杯咖啡。

When coffee is counted in cups, use 一杯. 本 is typically used for books. Do not add an unsupported size, temperature or purchase location.

Try a new sentence

Now say that you bought two cups of tea. Keep 我 as the subject.

References and explanation
  • 我买了两杯茶。

The new quantity is two and the drink is tea, so use 两杯茶. Keep 我买了; do not retain the original one cup of coffee.

3. Original sentence

我明天可能会去北京。

Task: This sentence is already correct. Simplify it while keeping the uncertainty.

References and explanation
  • 我明天可能去北京。
  • 明天我可能去北京。

The original is grammatical. 可能会 can be shortened to 可能, but changing it to 一定 would change uncertainty into certainty. Keep tomorrow and Beijing.

Try a new sentence

Now say that you may go to Shanghai next week. Keep 我 and the uncertainty.

References and explanation
  • 我下周可能去上海。
  • 下周我可能去上海。
  • 我下周可能会去上海。
  • 下周我可能会去上海。

Keep next week, Shanghai and the uncertainty. Both 可能 and 可能会 are acceptable; 一定 would change the meaning.

4. Original sentence

给我你的报告。

Task: Request the same report more politely, without adding a deadline.

References and explanation
  • 请把你的报告发给我,好吗?
  • 请把你的报告发给我。
  • 可以把你的报告发给我吗?
  • 请给我你的报告,好吗?

请, 可以……吗 and 好吗 can soften a request. Preserve the requested report and avoid inventing requirements such as “today” or “immediately.” Other polite versions may also be valid.

Try a new sentence

Politely ask a colleague to explain the meaning of this word.

References and explanation
  • 方便解释一下这个词的意思吗?
  • 请解释一下这个词的意思,好吗?
  • 可以解释一下这个词的意思吗?
  • 请解释一下这个词的意思。

Ask specifically for the meaning of this word. 请, 方便……吗 or 可以……吗 can make the request polite. The transfer task is no longer asking for a report.

5. Original sentence

这本书非常特别好。

Task: Say that the book is very good, keeping one degree adverb.

References and explanation
  • 这本书特别好。
  • 这本书非常好。
  • 这本书很好。

When 非常 and 特别 both express degree, one is clearer in this task. In a different context, 非常特别 can mean “very unusual,” so this exercise is not a universal ban on that sequence.

Try a new sentence

Describe this method as very good, using one degree word.

References and explanation
  • 这个方法很好。
  • 这个方法非常好。
  • 这个方法特别好。

The new subject is 这个方法. Use one degree word such as 很, 非常 or 特别 before 好, rather than stacking several degree adverbs.

You can check one question at a time, or answer every question and check the complete set. Retry clears only incorrect choices.

1. 保留原意,哪句语序最自然?(昨天/我/在书店/买书)
Answer and explanation

我昨天在书店买书。

In a neutral statement, time and place normally come before the main action: 我 + 昨天 + 在书店 + 买书. Option B preserves every supplied detail. The other two options put the subject or time in an unnatural position for this task.

2. 原意是“我可能下周出差”。哪项修改保留了不确定性?
Answer and explanation

我下周可能要出差。

可能 means “possibly,” while 一定 means “definitely” and 从不 means “never.” Option C keeps the original uncertainty. A correction should improve the language without changing how certain the speaker is.

3. 你想礼貌地请求同事说明一个术语,哪句最合适?
Answer and explanation

方便解释一下这个词的意思吗?

方便……吗? politely asks whether someone can do something. Option A clearly requests an explanation. Option B criticizes the colleague, and option C does not clearly or politely ask what the term means.

Try it with a real sentence

Chinese example

我今天在家喝茶。

Pinyin
Wǒ jīntiān zài jiā hē chá.
Meaning
I drink tea at home today.
Why it works
Place 今天 before the location 在家; both come before 喝茶. The order here is subject, time, place, action.
Original sentence
我学习中文昨天在学校。
Suggested correction
我昨天在学校学习中文。

Time and location normally come before the action in this neutral statement.

Original sentence
我买了一个书。
Suggested correction
我买了一本书。

本 is a common measure word for books. Use 一本书 rather than 一个书.

Original sentence
这是我书。
Suggested correction
这是我的书。

的 marks possession here: 我的书 means “my book”.

Your turn

Correct the word order: 我学习中文昨天在学校。

Show answer and explanation

我昨天在学校学习中文。

Place 今天 before the location 在家; both come before 喝茶. The order here is subject, time, place, action.

Read the explanation, hide the answer, then produce a new sentence of your own.

Start writing practice

Original practice examples, not official exam questions. AI feedback can make mistakes. New learners complete a short assessment and sign in before AI practice.

Submit a small, clear sample

Write two to five sentences around one idea. Short samples make it easier to understand every correction and reduce the chance that a long rewrite hides the specific grammar or word-choice pattern you need to learn.

Separate correctness from naturalness

A sentence can be grammatically possible but uncommon. Review grammar, collocation, register and word order separately. Keep your original meaning visible so a polished rewrite does not silently change what you wanted to say.

Rewrite after reading feedback

Close the correction and write the sentence again. Then compare. This retrieval step turns feedback into learning and reveals whether you understood the explanation or merely recognized the final answer.

Protect your information

Do not submit passwords, account numbers, health records or other sensitive content. MandarinGo asks for AI consent before sending learner text through its server for processing, and AI feedback can still contain mistakes.

Practice checklist and model answers

How to practise effectively

Read the task, cover the model and answer independently. Compare the highlighted pattern, then change one detail and try again. These are original learning tasks, not official exam questions.

  1. Task

Can 我明天可能会去北京 be corrected to 我明天一定去北京 without changing its meaning?

    One possible answer

    不能。可以保留为:我明天可能去北京。

    Check your answer

可能 is not 一定: editing must not change uncertainty into certainty.

  2. Task

Make 这个方法非常特别好 more natural in a context where both adverbs express degree.

    One possible answer

    这个方法特别好。

    Check your answer

Avoid stacking redundant degree adverbs. One clear degree word is sufficient here.

  3. Task

Make 给我你的报告 a polite work request without inventing a deadline.

    One possible answer

    请把你的报告发给我,好吗?

    Check your answer

Keep the requested report, make the tone polite and do not invent a deadline.

QUESTIONS

Before you begin

Can AI Chinese corrections change my meaning?

Yes. Compare every rewrite with your original intention. In 我昨天在学校学习中文, time and place precede the action; moving those phrases should not change what you studied or where. Ask for an explanation when a rewrite adds information.

Is MandarinGo an official HSK exam provider?

No. MandarinGo uses HSK levels to organize learning difficulty. Its exercises and recommendations are educational practice, not official exam papers, scores or certification.
